Hans Zimmer Concert, 01 June, Papp László Budapest Sportarena
Multiple Grammy Award-winning German composer and record producer Hans Zimmer created music for over 150 films during his career, and his works are known for integrating electronic music sounds with traditional orchestral arrangements. During his tour, Zimmer will be joined onstage by his 15-piece studio band, an orchestra, and a choir to create a stunning visual and sound extravaganza, performing music from The Lion King, Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, and tunes from many other movies – film fanatics in the Hungarian capital can enjoy the show at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna on June 1st.
Brain Bar Budapest 01-03 June, Akvárium Klub
Esteemed thinkers from around the world gather in Hungary’s capital for future-focused presentations and no-nonsense debates. Masterminds this year include the co-founder of Pirate Bay Peter Sunde, professor of astrobiology Carol Cleland, director of the Center for the Future of Intelligence Stephen Cave, and Simone Giertz, the queen of Shitty Robots.
Budapest Summer Festival – June-July-August
A 3-month cultural festival that takes place mainly on Margaret Island. Concerts, opera, ballet, musicals, dance performances, children programs throughout the summer within a romantic, outdoor setting. Summer Festival Margaret Island. Czech Beer Festival – 09-18 June, WestEnd City Center rooftop
Czech Beer Festival Budapest: the Czech Beer Festival in Budapest is an annual beer fest when authentic Czech beers pour into the city of Budapest. The venue of the festival is the rooftop of WestEnd City Centre mall. Approx 40 different types of draught beers and a good dozen Czech breweries participate in the fun June festival. This merry thing to do in Budapest is usually on a weekend (Sat, Sun) in mid June.

Besides wine celebrated on the numerous wine festivals organized in Budapest throughout the year, beer, especially specialty beer made by small, craft breweries, has become more and more popular in recent years.
André Rieu Concert, 16 June, Papp László Budapest Sportarena
André Rieu is back in Hungary with a brand new show! Together with his 60-piece Johann Strauss Orchestra and many soloist André Rieu will give you what you’ve come to expect from his performances: the maestro conducting his 60-piece Johann Strauss Orchestra and playing his world-famous Stradivarius violin to create a colourful concert full of surprises. The repertoire ranges from romantic, emotional ballads to the most gorgeous and celebrated waltzes.
Total Dance Festival Picnic 17 June, Kincsem Park
Legendary formations from the ’80s and ’90s provide time-transcending entertainment to revelers amid impressive visuals as the city blasts a mind-blowing house-party atmosphere, with bands performing this year like the Five, Real McCoy, 2 Unlimited, and Londonbeat – all happening at Budapest’s Kincsem Park horse-racing facility.
Green Day, 18 June, Papp László Budapest Sportarena
American punk-rock band Green Day will deliver a concert in Budapest’s László Papp Sport Arena on 18th of June 2017 as part of the world tour of their new album “Revolution Radio”. The members of Green Day – Billie Joe Armstrong (vocals/guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass/vocals) and Tre’ Cool (drums) – have paid a visit to Hungary for three times so far. They performed in the Budapest Sport Arena in 1995, at the Sziget Festival in 1998 and once again in the Sport Arena in 2005. The opening act of the concert will be delivered by fellow American punk band Rancid.

Night of Museums Budapest, 24 June
Budapest Night of Museums is a one night museum festival when almost all museums in Budapest, including the more expensive ones like the Budapest Museum of Fine Arts on Heroes’ Square, can be entered at a fraction of the usual costs, and there are crowds of locals “museum crawling” (plus some adventurous tourists who do no mind the long queues waiting for getting in).
