Budapest Conference Centers: World-Class Shows and Professional Networking

Budapest Conference Centers: World-Class Shows and Professional Networking

Since its return to prominence as a major tourist destination in the decades since the end of Communism, Budapest has reemerged as a true world city, one of the touristic, cultural, and night-life capitals of Europe.

It is only natural, then, that in addition being the home of beautiful theaters, out-of-this-world restaurants, and some of the most unique and interesting bars on earth, the Hungarian capital would attract musical acts, speakers, conferences, comedians, and performances great and small. These events, ranging from stand-up performances by Louis CK to technical trade shows and symposiums, now attract guests from all around the world to Budapest. Here, then, are some of the most well-known and well-regarded conference centers located near the city’s downtown area.

     Groupama Arena

Hungary’ second-largest stadium, the Groupama Arena is the home pitch of one of the country’s most popular football clubs, Ferencváros TC. In addition to regularly hosting sporting events, the Arena is often a venue for world-class musicians, comedians, and performers of all kinds. For example, this year alone has seen electronic band Depeche Mode and English mega-star Robbie Williams perform here in front of tens of thousands of people.

Located next to the Kincsem Park Horse Racetrack, the Hungexpo Budapest Fair Center regularly hosts interesting and varied events. These include technically oriented expos and conferences such as Industry Days, AutoMotive Hungary, and the Budapest Boat Show. The Hungexpo Center also hosts agricultural conferences, travel expos, massive wine-tastings, and a host of other events. Last year, this colossal conference center also played host to the European Championships of the Bocuse d’Or, a cooking contest widely regarded as the Olympics of the culinary world. As an aside, the European contest’s winner Hungarian Tamás Széll currently operates one of the country’s hottest bistros, Stand 25, in Budapest.

And if you’re already in Budapest, naturally you will need a place to stay after a day or evening attending conferences and concerts; in terms of both location and amenities, Fraser Residence Budapest is a perfect choice.
