    Budapest: A Top Celebrity Destination!

By this point, Budapest has developed a well-earned reputation as one of Europe’s true must-see destinations, and is widely known as one of the most beautiful, fun, and exciting cities on the continent. But while you may be aware of all this, did you also know that the Hungarian capital has become a prime destination for celebrity visitors from around the world?

In the past several years in particular, Budapest has regularly played host to celebrities ranging from singers on tour to movie stars filming Hollywood’s next mega-hit, and everyone in between.

Here, then, are just a few of the many, many celebrities who have graced the Hungarian capital with their presence in the past few years, as well as some who will be coming in the near future.

     Arnold Schwarzenegger

Perhaps the most significant star currently in Budapest is none other than the one and only Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Austrian-American bodybuilder-turned-actor best known for iconic roles such as the android Terminator, as well as for his two terms as Governor of the State of California.

In fact, “the Arnold” is actually in the Hungarian capital reprising his most famous role, as he is busy filming the next installment in the Terminator series.

    Will Smith

Rapper and actor Will Smith recently wrapped up a stay in the Hungarian capital, where he was filming scenes for his upcoming film Gemini Man.

Before leaving, however, Smith made a huge impression on Budapest: on his last day in the city, the American mega-star set out from his hotel room, and climbed his way up to the top of the famed Chain Bridge. Once up there, he began to dance in the early morning hours, as the sun rose over the Hungarian capital.

    Jaimie Oliver

This past April, celebrity chef Jaimie Oliver made his way to Budapest to visit some of the restaurants in the city that bear his name (which you yourself can visit, and experience for yourself, during your time in the Hungarian capital.

Oliver, known both for his hit television shows and his commitment to healthier eating among children, described Budapest in glowing terms, telling reporters “it is amazing, brilliant here.”
